Frequently Asked Questions

Yes — if your end time is earlier in the day than your start time, it's automatically treated as crossing into the next day rather than showing an error or a negative duration.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • This works on clock times only — not a full date and time span. If you need the duration between two different calendar dates (not just two times of day), use the Date Difference Calculator instead. This tool is for questions like "from 9am to 5pm" or an overnight shift, not "from March 5 to March 8."
  • It doesn't automatically deduct a lunch or unpaid break. The duration shown is the raw time between your start and end (or after adding/subtracting), with no break subtracted. Subtract your break time from the result manually if you need net worked hours.
