What are business days?

Business days (also called working days) are Monday through Friday — weekends don't count. "5 business days" means 5 weekdays, which can span more than 5 calendar days once a weekend falls in between.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • This skips weekends only, not public holidays. If a holiday falls in your range, the actual working-day count will be lower than what's shown here — factor in any known holidays yourself.
  • The start date isn't counted in Add/Subtract. Adding 20 business days to a Thursday doesn't count that Thursday itself — the count starts from the next day.
